Mary Fisher
August 1970 - August 2021
Mary was our Lead Solutions Advocate and a member of the JA Benefits team from 1993 through August 2021 when she passed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mary was a cornerstone, the original member of our Solutions Team, and our most tenured employee. Those that had the opportunity to interact with Mary knew she was the kindest and most endearing person in the world and would literally stop at nothing to solve client and member issues.
Mary brought an irreplaceable magic to the JA family and her spirit will forever remain in the heart of the JA team.
Mary was a graduate of Oakland City College, holding her Associates in Business Management, and was licensed in Health & Life for the State of Indiana, as well as had achieved earning her Certificate of Health Care Navigation. She was also a member of the Bedford Chamber of Commerce and the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce.
One of Mary’s favorite charitable activities was to help out with the shopping during JA’s annual Christmas Give-Back event to pull together food, toys and supplies to help children in need.
Mary was a friend to all. Having two daughters of her own, she raised countless others who lovingly referred to her as ‘Mother Mary’. She took in a band of misfits and turned them into a family. She was always up for an adventure and loved traveling to the beach. She was the perfect hostess and loved a good theme party. She attended all of the sporting events any of her ‘kids’ were involved in. She was the biggest fan, cheerleader, supporter (sometimes for the other team). She was a great side-line coach and taught many life lessons. Mary was an avid reader and could finish a book in a night.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, two brothers, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, as well as her dogs, Duke and Buddy.
