Doug is Partner and Vice Chairman of JA Benefits. In 1988, Doug established JA Benefits as a privately held company devoted to quality, expertise, and personal relationships. His clients value his personal attention, timeliness, and depth of knowledge.

Doug has an extensive background in financial and employee benefits planning, with over 28 years of industry experience. His years of experience help clients work effectively towards their employee benefit goals by designing benefit plans that are based on informed choices and clients’ needs.

Doug attended Indiana University for his Bachelor’s in Science in Business, where he wrestled for Olympic and World Champion IU coach, Doug Blubaugh. He holds his Indiana Health, Disability & Life License and is a Licensee from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, CO.

In his free time, Doug gives back to the community through the Indiana University Foundation. He is also an active member of the Society of Human Resource Managers, Financial Planning Association and the Greater Bloomington Area Health Underwriters.

Doug has served on numerous advisory boards for insurance companies and third-party administrators. He is a frequent speaker on industry issues at local and regional conferences, including the Indiana Chamber, Japan – American Society of Indiana and Indiana Society of Human Resource Managers meetings. Recently, he also served on the Lawrence County Community Foundation and on the Lawrence County Extension Board.

Doug enjoys golf, snow skiing, and other outdoor activities with his family.  Family Ski trips to Colorado are a real favorite. Doug and his wife, Lindsay, reside in Monroe County. Together, they have three children and nine grandchildren.
