Dan works part-time with JA Benefits, providing benefits solutions for higher education entities.

Dan Rives has over 40 years of experience leading HR functions for large public and private sector entities. 23 of those years he’s spent as a Senior HR Officer for Indiana University. Prior to that, Dan lead HR functions for several private entities, such as Litton Bionetics and US divisions of Akzo, NV.

Dan also works part-time teaching classes related to employee benefits and healthcare management at Indiana University and has served in the US Marines with honorable discharge.

Dan partook in the Advance Executive Education program at Northwestern University, holds a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in HR and a Bachelors in Accounting from University of Maryland.

Within his community, Dan is a member of the Bloomington Hospital Board, a founding member of Precision Health Network Board, volunteers for the America Clinic Board, and is a member of the Bloomington Community Foundation Precision Grant Board.

Dan and his wife have one daughter and two grandchildren who reside in Indianapolis. He loves to visit them, as well as hike sections of the Appalachian Trail and other trails in the mountains of Western North Carolina. He loves his dog, a black lab named Buddy, who often accompanies him on his hikes.
